Pest Identification

This tick is also known as the Wood Tick.  It is one of the most well-known hard ticks.  Ticks can spread different diseases when feeding off of you and this tick is known for Rocky Mountain spotted fever.  This tick can be exposed to Lyme disease but is NOT a competent vector to transmit it.  Ticks CANNOT be fully eliminated but can be managed through the help of habitat modification.  This tick likes moist humid areas so that makes long grass very inviting to them.
